Scope and Contents

This collection includes items produced by and applying to ministries and churches within the Church of God denomination sponsored at the state or local levels, rather than a general church department. Series are assigned by region or state, then specified to city and ministry levels. Cross-regional ministries, with Church of God backing, but not sponsored by the International Offices, may be given their own series.

The first digital video discs in this group are listed on the external document linked at the bottom of the collection record. Newly added items to the collection are given item records in the archives catalog and the discs on the external inventory will be transitioned to item entries as the staff is able.

The General Photograph Collection at the Dixon Pentecostal Research Center contains:

1. Photographs of persons, events, institutions, and buildings related to the Church of God.

2. Photographs related to other Pentecostal denominations or Charismatic ministries.

3. Photographs related to the history of the Pentecostal and Charismatic movements.

The collection is arranged in folders by subject (names, places, events).

The information files contain materials about each subject in various formats such as newspaper articles, pamphlets, advertisements, flyers, and manuscripts. The files include information about persons, places, events, ministries, and denominational agencies which are associated with the Pentecostal and charismatic movements. The files are arranged alphabetically by subject.

Scope and Contents These photographs range from early childhood to current. Approximately half are of the schoolchildren, teachers, buildings, and related missionary work. The photos provide a significant portion of her story that the documents do not tell us. She often wrote notes and/or dates on the back of the pictures. These helped fill in the timeline of Gaines’ ministry. Gaines organized many of the pictures by event and they have been left in her order. Where there was no order they are ordered...

Scope and Contents This collection includes products produced as mixed media units. Series 1 includes kits produced by Church of God (Cleveland, Tenn.) related ministries and series 2 consists of those from other Pentecostal/Charismatic ministries. The included kits are not in the library's online catalog, though there are other examples in the catalog and individual elements of the kits may be there.
